God Is Able – Devotional #8 – Keep Praying and Creating Ripple Effects Into Eternity

by Kathy

God Is Able 2

Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly

beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power

that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church

and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.

Ephesians 3:20-21

If you are reading the book – God Is Able by Priscilla Shirer –  we’re are finishing up with chapter 7.  Go ahead and re-read it again.  It is a favorite chapter of mine!  Next week, will be our last devotional in this series.

Think back for just a moment to the first devotional in this series where I ask you to connect the circumstances you are facing now with God’s infinite and indescribable ability.  I asked you the following:

What does your now look like?  Is it:

  • a boat load of bills you don’t know how to pay?
  • a problem with your child that seems to have no end in site?
  • a marriage that doesn’t look like it will survive too much longer?
  • a sin that you keep repeating?
  • a unhealthy habit that controls you?
  • a report from the doctor you weren’t expecting or didn’t want?
  • a long season of stress and struggle?
  • a life filled with mundane boredom?
  • a hurt by a friend who completely doesn’t understand you?
  • _____________ (you fill in the blank)

Perhaps, as this study has progressed, you have seen God answer prayers to your needs in ways that have been “exceedingly, abundantly, beyond” all you could even imagine.  Others may still be taking their concerns, needs, and distresses before the Father and waiting on Him.  It seems like we are always learning depths of waiting and trust aren’t we?!

Today, I want to leave words to encourage those of you that are still waiting to see Him burst forth with glorious glory to your needs and concerns.

What may seem to be His silence and avoidance from where you sit today is already reverberating in future places.  If not right here, if not right now, you can be sure His ability IS taking visible, tangible shape somewhere, even if beyond the scope of your current sightline.

Here are Priscilla’s words that blessed my heart so much:

You and I are living right this minute on a tiny dot of time within a vast sea of God moments.

And the ripple effect of today’s prayer, today’s faith – today’s now – spirals out in all directions

for all eternity, bumping, something here, affecting something there, all under God’s watchful eye and wisdom.

Each time we turn to Him, each time we trust, each time we bring our all to the surpassing greatness of HIS all,

we find ourselves instantly connected to every future time zone where His ability lives.  We link up across

generations where He is already working, present-tense, to make His glory known.

God’s incomparable, immeasureable, majestic, glorious power funnels not only into our everyday lives, but into our futures, into our children and grandchildren, our churches, our nations, and into every moment His presence fills.

Dear friend – Keep praying!  And while you do, give Him the honor – the glory – the tribute – He deserves.

Have a Grace Full Week praying and creating ripple effects into eternity ~
