In the Waiting Room – Week 9 – Video

by Kathy

This coming week we will be studying two Psalms because you can’t read one without the other.  They go hand in hand.  It is thought that Psalm 51 was written first as it reflects the tremendous amount of anguish that David was feeling as the result of sin in his life.  Psalm 32 shares David’s thoughts on what it was like for God to have forgiven him.

To read the story where David committed the sin that tore at his heart in these Psalms, read 2 Samuel 11 and 12.  I will give a review of the story in the video today. (Please note:  I mention in the video that this is week 10 – this is a mistake – it’s week 9)  This story is one of not just judgment from God, but also the beauty of how much God loves us and can restore us.  You see, when we sin, our relationship with God is hindered.  Cofession of that sin, allows God’s forgivenss and grace to restore our relationship.  What a precious gift of love!

This week we’ll talk about what it means to have a contrite and broken spirit before God.  We’ll also look at why it is so hard to call sin for what it is, and what hinders us from allowing God to examine our hearts for unconfessed sin.

I look forward to hearing from you this week as to how God is working in your life.

Have a grace full week!
