Living It Out – Colossians – Lesson 15

by Kathy

girl with sun lightI’m so glad you have joined me today for this lesson on forgiveness.  Before watching the video this week, take a moment to read Colossians 3:12-14.  Think back through the last few weeks and what you have learned as you have studied each one of these virtues listed in these verses.  Praise God for what He is teaching you and evaluate whether or not you are remaining intentional in your walk with putting on these virtues.

I would love to hear what God has been teaching you these past few weeks.  Please take a moment to post a comment.

Have a Grace Full Week!

Great lesson Kathy. I’m reminded of something I’ve heard a few times. Holding on to bitterness and unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping it will kill the other person. Certainly a senseless waste of time and emotional energy. I loved the reminder that obedience is followed by correct emotions, and healing.

    Glenna,
I loved your comment about unforgiveness and the bitterness we hold on to being like poison. It will for sure have adverse effects on our hearts, destroying our intimate relationship with Christ and the other person! Satan has such a clever way of getting us to think that we are owed that feeling of unforgiveness…that it is our right to feel that way. As we cling to this, we begin to be paralyzed to stay in the pit of the unforgiving heart, causing it to even flow into other areas of our life and poisoning us. I have learned over and over that if I forgive, inspite of my feelings, the emotions of kindness, compassion, humility, will flood my heart as I step out in obedience to obey.

Thanks for such an encouraging comment leading the rest of us Godward!!
