Living It Out – Colossians – Lesson 6

by Kathy

girl with sun lightI’m so glad you joined us today!  We are going to study Colossians 2:6-10 this week.  My eyes were rivited to the verses 6-7, and will focus on these verses in the video today.  Here Paul encourages the Colossians church, and us too, towards four things:

  • Continue to live in Christ
  • Be rooted and built up in Christ
  • Be strengthened in the faith
  • Be overflowing with thankfulness

Paul is begining to transition his teaching here.  He is starting to focus on how a Chirstian life should be lived out.  He will share with us more thoughts on Christian living as we study chapters 3 and 4.

As I prepared the study notes for this week, I realized that there was quite a bit of digging work for you to do.  Because of this, I will have us stay with this lesson for 2 weeks.  I will not post a video lesson next Monday.  Instead, I will post a “Give Away” drawing.  Stay tuned next Monday.  I will be having you post what God is teaching you as you study Colossians 2:6-10 and pick a winner from the postings!

I hope you have a wonderful 2 weeks studying this beautiful passage.  It is one of my favorites!  Take time to really focus on what is being taught here and applying it to your daily life.  There are so many ways, through this passage, that God could speak to your heart.  Be still and listen…and then obey!

Have a grace full week!!!

I am truly enjoying this study! I love how you break it down to little chunks. You make it so easy to understand.
    Thank you!

Thank you Katie! I love just taking a few verses at a time and really focussing on them for the whole week. It gives me more time to listen and hear what God wants for me to apply. So glad you are enjoyin this study!

  2. Dottie Thomas says:

Mike’s mom passed away this week which caused me to think how thankful I am for our parents. We were taught by them our faith and the roots began to grow in Christ. We are responsible to continue growing and submitting daily to Him.

  3. Katie Critzon says:

One of the biggest things I have picked up from Colossians is how to pray for my loved ones. (As in 1:9-14). It feels so powerful. I have actually heard Dr. Charles Stanley preach on this powerful prayer, but I never put it into action. I believe with all my heart that these prayers are being heard and that the results are going to be amazing! God is so good and faithful to those who love Him!
The whole study has really opened up to me!

  4. Angie says:

This Bible study is really opening my eyes to many different aspects all at once. I find that I keep going back to all of the notes and reading them through and taking new notes each time. Taking that step to be the christian that God expects is not easy as the daily things like to get in the way. Honestly, I know prayer is powerful but it a different thing to actually take the time to do it. I absoultely love these studies!
