Summer Worship Wednesday – His Marvelous Grace

by Kathy

Galatians 1 15

I was born on August 27.  This Friday, my sweet husband has planned an “out on the town” birthday dinner party for me, surrounded by our adult children (we have 5, including our wonderful daughter-in-laws)  I love spending time with each one of them!

When my birthday rolls around each year, I am always amazed by how fast time passes.  But what really amazes me and causes me to be over the top astounded….grateful…humbled…overwhelmingly emotional at times…and unable to express with just the right words is this….how much my heart is thankful for God’s abundant marvelous grace to me year in and year out!

Before I was born and longer yet – before the world was even created, God knew me, chose me and called me to be His own.  This truth continually brings me to my knees in adoration and worship to my God and my Savior.  It was nothing but His grace, for I deserve nothing.  And each day, He shines that grace on me, extending to me every spiritual benefit of being His daughter.  It is through His grace that you and find complete fulfillment in life.

Take a moment to read Ephesians 1.  Let these words remind you of just a few of the grace gifts God gives you continually.  I pray that your heart will be full of joy as you take time to worship Him for the many blessings He gifts us with.

Ephesians 1:3-14 (J B Phillips Translation)

3-6 Praise be to God for giving us through Christ every possible spiritual benefit as citizens of Heaven! For consider what he has done—before the foundation of the world he chose us to become, in Christ, his holy and blameless children living within his constant care. He planned, in his purpose of love, that we should be adopted as his own children through Jesus Christ—that we might learn to praise that glorious generosity of his which has made us welcome in the everlasting love he bears towards the Son.

7-10 It is through the Son, at the cost of his own blood, that we are redeemed, freely forgiven through that full and generous grace which has overflowed into our lives and opened our eyes to the truth. For God had allowed us to know the secret of his plan, and it is this: he purposes in his sovereign will that all human history shall be consummated in Christ, that everything that exists in Heaven or earth shall find its perfection and fulfilment in him.

11-14 And here is the staggering thing—that in all which will one day belong to him we have been promised a share (since we were long ago destined for this by the one who achieves his purposes by his sovereign will), so that we, as the first to put our confidence in Christ, may bring praise to his glory! And you too trusted him, when you heard the message of truth, the Gospel of your salvation. And after you gave your confidence to him you were, so to speak, stamped with the promised Holy Spirit as a guarantee of purchase, until the day when God completes the redemption of what he has paid for as his own; and that will again be to the praise of his glory.

Here is a worship song that I am singing over and over this week.  Oh how I love these words  – “All I have is all from you.  All I want is all of you.  Your grace, Your grace, I am nothing without you.  Your grace, your grace shines on me.”

Have a grace full week thanking God for His great grace.
