Psalm 37:1-7

Do not fret because of those who are evil
    or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
    like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord
    and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
   when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Do you find yourself smack dab in the middle of a difficult situation and the end doesn’t seem to be anywhere in site?   Are you feeling worried or anxious?  Are you tempted to navigate a course all on your own to achieve resolution?  Stop for just a minute and read Psalm 37:5.  What are we to do when we are facing difficulties?  We are commanded to commit our way to the Lord and trust Him.  We are to roll our cares, concerns, thoughts and actions on to the One who can faithfully lead us and trust the path He has us on.

Nothing God allows us to go through is pointless.  Even in the midst of difficult moments…when it hurts…when you feel broken…when prayers go unanswered…when you feel stressed…when you can’t see a way out…He is working all things for your good and for His glory. (Romans 8:28)  He has seen each and every moment of your life, from beginning to end, and has a grand and magnificent plan for you! (Jeremiah 29:11)

Go ahead.  Let that concern go…surrender it to the Lord right now.  Tell Him, you want His way and you will trust Him.  Allow the power of His presence to fill your soul.

While you waiting and trusting, pray this verse each time you are tempted to take the concern back on yourself:  “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask of think.”  Ephesians 3:20 NLT
