Truth Tuesday – How To Start Your Morning

by Kathy

Can you believe it’s only three weeks until Christmas?!!  Life is full for me righPsalm5verse3t now – working full-time and preparing for the Holidays.  When my schedule gets this full, I find my thoughts filled with “to -do” list first thing in the morning.  Even before I open my eyes, my mind races ahead to all the things I need to accomplish that day, the lists that I need to make, and all the errands I need to run on the way home from work.  The next thing I know, I am throwing back the covers, rushing to get ready to accomplish all my tasks.

In moments like these, it is so easy to get caught up in a hurried attitude and forget the one thing that could help improve my day in such a huge way.  That one thins is – Prayer!  When I don’t take the time to do this, I end up attempting to handle everything on my own which can so easily lead to frustration and moments of being unglued.

So here’s what I am making a priority to do every day ~ The moment I wake up, before my mind starts to race with the daily activities, I am spending time in prayer.   Psalm 5:3 says, “In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice;  In the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.”  Don’t you just love this verse?   I find myself quoting in the morning and saying something like this…..

Good morning Lord!  Thank you for listening to me.  I love how the words in this verse expresses your love for me!  Here are the things that are on my mind today, and what I think should be accomplished.  But more important to me, is to do what you want me to do today.  Give me direction.  Fill me with your Peace as I go through my day.  Lead me today Lord!  I commit this day to you.  I want to love and honor you today.  Give me wisdom and clarity as I go through my day.  Help me to glorify You today.

What a blessing it is to begin the day by giving it to our Savior and watching Him work out His plan.   Know this, your day may not be prefect and smooth by starting it praying, but it can be filled with joy and peace that comes only from committing your ways to the Lord

It is my hope that beginning our days with prayer will become an essential part of our morning routine as we strive to live for the glory of God.

Have a Grace Full Week!
