Truth Tuesday – Pour Out Your Praise

by Kathy

When is the last time you paused to give God thanks….just thanks and nothing else?  Sometimes life’s demands can leave us feeling overwhelmed and discouraged to the point that defeat crowds out thankfulness in our hearts.  Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to be thankful. Sometimes, praise seems just the opposite of what we want to do.

But when we choose to stop in the midst of a it all and pour out our praise to God, a change occurs in our hearts.  Our focus is no longer on ourselves, but on our Mighty God, who we can completely trust and depend on.  As we praise Him, we find beauty, peace and rest right smack dab in the middle of…the dirty kitchen…the traffic jam that is going to make us late to the appointment…that sleepless night…the situation that makes us weary…the unmet longing…the heart that is breaking…the to-do list that never seems to be done.

O Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;

Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.

Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving;

lee us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise?

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

who redeems your life from the pit,

who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.
