Truth Tuesday – Oh How He Loves Us!

by Kathy

Every now and then I think it does our hearts good to be reminded of God’s love for us.  His love is not based on our  performances, beauty, positions or abilities.  It’s not based on what we have done or should have done.  The truth is….God will never love us more or less…no matter what.  His love is complete and we are the object of His heart’s affection.

Here’s what God’s Word tells us about His love for us:

  • John 3:16 -For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
  • Romans 5:8 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
  • Psalm 103:11 – For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him.
  • Psalm 86:15 – But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
  • Ephesians 3: 17-19 – So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
  • Romans 8:37-39 – No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 – The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Let those words sink in. Savor the special sweetness of God’s love for you today. Take it very personally. Linger a bit on these verses and on thoughts of His affection for you. May your heart be moved to love Him more today.

Have a grace full week knowing how great His affections are for you ~
