Truth Tuesday – Focus On God’s Promises

by Kathy

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.  They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

This verse was written to the Israelites who had been taken captive and exiled to a land where they would live for the next 70 years. Although the Israelites were not where they would have expected, nor where they would have asked God to place them, God promised them that they were not forgotten and He still had a plan for their lives.  Even in the midst of their difficult situation, God gave them an assignment to settle down where He had placed them and be a blessing. (Jeremiah 29:5-7) As they waited on God and obeyed His instructions, they were to find their hope and strength in these promises:

  • God has not forgotten you.
  • God has good plans for you.

Are you in a place you didn’t expect to find yourself in?  Are you facing circumstances you wish you didn’t have to experience?  These promises are for you too!

When we focus on these promises, they will anchor our emotions, keeping us from fear, panic, nervousness, and bewilderment. When we don’t understand what is going on, these promises will bring us certainty, clarity and hope.  As life zigs and zags with all its twists and turns, we can be content and at peace.

My dear friend, when you ask, What is happening right now? God is saying to you through Jeremiah 29:11, “Oh, I have a plan! All will be well!!

Have a grace full week focusing on God’s promises!
